Bending (Press Brake)
What Is CNC Press Brake Bending?
"A CNC press brake is a sheet metal forming machine that bends sheet metal stock into the desired shape. With press brake bending machines, sheet plates are shaped by being pressed between two dies. The large die located at the bottom of the machine is called the female die, while the die at the top is called the male die.
Press brake bending machines consist of components such as the upper and lower dies, hydraulic axes and the CNC control unit. The upper die applies hydraulic force against the female die, clamping the sheet between them and bending it at different angles.
Information such as material type, material thickness and the pressure to be applied is entered into the machine via the CNC control panel. Once this information is entered, an animation is generated and the product that will result from the bending process can be previewed.
